did the governing body put it out there as preemptive damage control because they knew this was coming?
they must have had subpoenas giving them a heads up.

On the JW broadcast (I think it was actually the daily text) Lett assures everyone that these allegations of sexual abuse are apostate lies. . .
.. . . . .but not once in this case has any of the elders or CO/DO mentioned this "fact" in their testimony before the state. . .
If what Lett said was true, wouldn't it completely exonerate them? 😉

These guys (the Royal Commission members) are sharp as hell.
They have obviously done ASTONISHING amounts of research, and they've got this thing figured from every conceivable angle.

The words "smug asshole" came to mind after watching him.
i just heard this a few minutes ago by a jw friend who is still an elder in my old hall.
the kingdom hall i used to attend and my mom still attends was paid off many years ago and serves about 6 congregations.
one of the english congregations has a lot of financially well of members.

Wow, the society really has some strategy going there. . . .
First, make sure nobody goes to college so your entire membership is broke.
Then, in the congregations where there actually is some money and the people take pride in their hall - so much so that they re-raise the funds needed to remodel it - the society takes their money and then shoves it up their asses with a bigger monthly payment.

I only got to watch about 45 minutes or so of the feed last night. They were grilling an elder with grey hair and wearing a broadly striped tie. Is this guy the "Jackson" you're talking about? Or was GB member Jackson there and I missed it?
Also I got the impression that he had no counsel of any kind with him. . . My wife made the comment that it looks like they hung him out to dry.
the royal commission hearing starting on monday, july 27, 2015 - australian day and date - (and it could go on until august 7th depending on how many witnesses testify) regarding jehovah's witnesses handling of child abuse is supposed to be streamed.. it could be that the hearing will only be audio not video although we were informed it will be streamed.
we'll find out in a few hours.. i live in the central time zone of the us and right now here it is sunday, 3: 45 pm.
in sydney, australia, it is 15 hours ahead of us.

PROLOGOS - don't quote me on this, I'm certainly not an expert. . . but it seems that Carter was involved in some kind of proselytizing work with the Southern Baptists. . . . Really, all this information does is blow a huge hole in the idea that JWs are the ONLY ONES preaching the "good news."
I'm sure they'd be disappointed to learn they aren't.
